About

Formerly incarcerated individuals often suffer from the awful physical, social, and mental pains of imprisonment. Many spend years behind bars, and once released, struggle to secure and maintain the essential resources they need to survive. Incarceration creates barriers that are hard for former prisoners to overcome, making the road to reentry and reintegration much more difficult.

For the wrongfully convicted and exonerated, these challenges may be amplified since they oftentimes do not receive post-incarceration assistance, similar to assistance provided to traditional parolees, which may leave them with little to no resources from the moment they leave prison.

We were eager to create a solution.

ROAD 2 REENTRY (R2R) is a 501(c)(3) organization created to help returning citizens fund their basic immediate and ongoing post-release needs like cash, food, coats, boots, eyeglasses, educational materials, and other resources after experiencing wrongful conviction and wrongful incarceration. As we develop our programs and initiatives, we aim to create pillars of support and community for wrongfully convicted and exonerated individuals to thrive.

We hope you will join us in this mission.
